WEEK 4: Eat a rainbow of Fruits and Veggies!

Did you know that the color of the fruits and vegetables you eat actually means something about the nutrition they provide? For example, red fruits and veggies contain lycopene, ellagic acid and other nutrients that reduce the risk of prostate cancer, lower blood pressure, reduce bad cholesterol levels, and support joint tissue in arthritis cases. By eating a "rainbow" of fruits and veggies, you get the best all-around health benefits.

Here are some examples of fruits and veggies of different colors. Be sure to eat a variety of colors every day.
